Festival Ticket FAQs

How do I transfer my tickets?

  • Tickets can only be transferred ONCE.
  • Only transfer your tickets through the official Showpass transfer process to the buyer’s email address. This ensures the ticket is properly reassigned and the QR code will only be valid for the new owner. Here are the instructions on how to transfer tickets.

How do I sell my tickets?

Using Showpass Ticket Transfers Safely

All ticket resales must be handled privately by transferring tickets directly to another person’s email via Showpass. Bear Creek Folk Festival does not currently offer a service that resells tickets.

Notice

  • The Bear Creek Folk Music Festival and its ticketing provider Showpass  cannot verify or guarantee tickets sold or transferred outside of official channels—proceed with caution
  • The Bear Creek Folk Music Festival does not endorse any particular method for reselling or buying privately held tickets. The following notes are SUGGESTIONS ONLY. Buyers and sellers should proceed at the own risk.
  • Whenever possible, meet in person at a safe public place (e.g. like a bank or a library) to exchange payment and perform the ticket transfer on your devices simultaneously.
  • Report any suspicious offers or scams immediately to the festival team or your payment provider.
  • Tickets can only be transferred ONCE.

Important Reminders

  • Use only the official Showpass ticket transfer function to ensure valid ticket ownership changes.
  • Static images or printed copies of tickets can be copied or duplicated; these are not safe methods.
  • If any part of the transaction feels suspicious, walk away.

For Sellers:

  • Only transfer your tickets through the official Showpass transfer process to the buyer’s email address. This ensures the ticket is properly reassigned and the QR code will only be valid for the new owner. Here are the instructions on how to transfer tickets.
  • Never send screenshots, PDFs, or paper copies of tickets. These are easy to copy or reuse and will not guarantee entry.
  • Transfer tickets only after you have received full payment. This is where meeting in person in a safe public place like a bank or a library can help insure the transfer is a success
  • Use secure payment methods such as:
    • Interac e-Transfer (note this offers limited fraud protection).
    • PayPal standard transactions (avoid Friends & Family option).
  • Avoid gift cards or other non-verifiable payment methods since they provide no buyer/seller protections.
  • Double-check the buyer’s email address before sending transfers, as transfers cannot be reversed once accepted.

For Buyers:

  • Only pay once you see clear proof that the seller owns the tickets and has started an official Showpass transfer to your email.
  • Do not accept tickets as screenshots, PDFs, or paper copies; these do not guarantee entry and may lead to scams.
  • Receive the official Showpass transfer email and complete the transfer before considering your purchase complete. Here are instructions on how to receive transferred tickets
  • Use secure payment methods that provide some level of buyer protection.
  • Meeting in person in a safe public place like a bank or a library can help insure the transfer is a success
